Because our staff is so busy processing orders from all over the world each day, we were forced to make some tough decisions. All order are shipped within 48 hours of receipt of funds unless we are out of stock on a medicine. We are now informing our customers of orders that are out of stock by email. They further require documentation in English and an invoice of all medicines sold for customs.  For these countries, Medicina Mexico is now delivering your medicines to Dr. Isaac Reyes, MD (Ced. Federal 644884) (Ced. Estatal 1537-02/05) along with the required documentation including documentation on each medication sold in English is from Wolters Kluwer.   Dr. Reyes upon receipt of your medication will issue a prescription and provide for shipping pursuant to your order.  If for any reason, Dr. Reyes fails to issue a prescription for a specific medication, then you will receive a refund or credit.

For what conditions is this medication prescribed?
Famotidine is used to treat ulcers (sores in the lining of the stomach or small intestine); Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which backward flow of acid from the stomach causes heartburn (heartburn) and damage to the esophagus; and other conditions where the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (tumor in the pancreas or small intestine that cause an increase in the production of stomach acid). Famotidine without a prescription is used to prevent and treat symptoms of heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach brought on by eating or drinking certain foods or drinks. Famotidine belongs to a class of medications called H2 blockers. It reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach.

How should this medicine be used?
Famotidine comes as a tablet and liquid to take by mouth. It takes, usually, 1 time a day at bedtime or 2-4 times a day. Famotidine nonprescription comes as regular tablets, chewable and capsule to take by mouth. It takes, usually 1 or 2 times daily. To prevent symptoms, the drug is taken 15-60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn. Carefully follow the directions on the prescription label and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you do not understand. Use the medication exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Shake the liquid for 5 to 10 seconds before each use to mix the medication evenly.

Take the tablets and capsules with a full glass of water.

Chew the chewable tablet before swallowing. Take the chewable tablet with a full glass of water.

Do not take more than 2 tablets, capsules or chewable tablets without prescription famotidine in a single day, and do not take no prescription famotidine for more than 2 weeks unless your doctor tells you so. If symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, or sour stomach last longer than 2 weeks, stop taking the drug without prescription and call your doctor.

What special precautions should I follow?
Before you start taking famotidine:

tell your doctor if you are allergic to famotidine, cimetidine (Tagamet), nizatidine (Axid), ranitidine (Zantac) or other medicines.

tell your doctor what prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, nutritional supplements and herbal manufactured. Be sure to mention other medicines for heartburn. Do not take famotidine with other drugs without prescription and nonprescription medications for heartburn unless a doctor tells you so.
tell your doctor if you have phenylketonuria (PKU, a congenital disease in which mental retardation will develop if a specific diet is not followed), and if you have or have ever had difficulty swallowing or kidney disease.
tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while taking this drug, call your doctor.

What special diet should I follow while I take this medicine?
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue your normal diet.

What I have to do if I miss a dose?
Take the prescription dose of famotidine missed dose as soon as you remember, however, if it is time for the next, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Famotidine nonprescription usually taken as needed. If your doctor has told you to take regular famotidine without prescription, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. What are the side effects can this medication cause?
Famotidine may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

headache (headache)
dizziness
constipation (constipation)
diarrhea
concern (in babies who take famotidine)

Some Side Effects Can Be Serious. The following symptoms are uncommon, but if you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

hives
rashes
pruritus (itching)
swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles and legs
hoarseness
difficulty breathing or swallowing
Famotidine may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

How should I store or dispose of this medicine?
Keep this medication in the container, tightly closed and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom) temperature. Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer used and pull the liquid famotidine unused after 30 days. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of medicines.

what should I do in case of an overdose?
In case of an overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call 911.

What other important information should I know?
Keep all appointments with your doctor.

Do not let anyone else take your medication. Ask your pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription.

It is important for you. keep a written list of all medications you list. you are taking, including those received on prescription and you. nonprescription, including vitamins and dietary supplements.
